Botanic Gardens

On Thursday we went to the botanic gardens.

We learnt about how to make compost heap and about how do you make soil and medicine.

We were in the bush and we had to pick a leaf and put it on a line and see all the colours on the leaves and why are they different colours.Its different because it rots down and changes colours, when its completely rotten its brown when its begining to be rotten its yellow.

We also learned about different kind of fungas.Locky picked up a branch that has fungi,some were just growing, we took a good look at all the fungas.

We also looked at all the intresting plants and a big leaf called a Pakunui we wrote about it in our topic books.

We learnt about birds and what they do.
